Safety is a mindset and an attitude that all MasTec employees carry with them on a daily basis. As a member of the NCCR, National Safety Council, OSHA Electrical Transmission & Distribution Safety Partnership and numerous other safety organizations and safety auditing programs, MasTec is committed to continuous improvement in safety with a common goal of zero injuries. As well as taking an active part in initiatives that include the development of "Best Practices" and training programs.
In addition, MasTec has established training centers across the country to teach our employees about the importance of keeping compliance with OSHA and DOT safety rules. Through our risk management programs, we educate our reliable staff, our subcontractors and our vendors to promote training and safety as a cornerstone of our company culture. At MasTec, our employees actively execute safety values and accident prevention tactics during every job, while simultaneously generating innovative and quality work on a nationwide level.
Our training centers in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Texas are operated by experienced safety and training managers. These centers educate our employees in mandatory outside plant, aerial, and underground- construction practices and safety procedures that help ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT safety rules.

Safety and risk management also assist to positively influence our bottom line, as well as those of our customers. We strive to manage costs by resolving outstanding issues in a timely manner, quickly investigating any incidents, regularly reporting financial impact, and immediately correcting any issues to prevent re-occurrences.






SAFETY PHILOSOPHY
Our internal safety philosophy allows us to develop and enforce workplace practices that ensure the safe-work ethic and environment of our employees. It is based upon the following principles:
It's one thing to be internally focused on safety, but another entirely to be a lead voice in the establishment of national safety standards. In 2011 MasTec begin doing just that for the power transmission and distribution industry. We joined with OSHA and various industry groups (IBEW, EEI, NECA), and other national utility contractors as a member of the OSHA Electrical Transmission & Distribution Safety Partnership.
The Partnerships goal is to establishing guidelines that reduce the number of fatalities, injuries, and illnesses in the Industry. As well as develop a common vision and commitment to provide employees with a safe and healthful workplace, and to demonstrate leadership, responsibility and accountability in furthering worker health and safety.
